``plot,,
Man kind nearly destroyed the Earth with their fuels and neglect. Innovative ideas kept it alive but just barely. We suffered many losses but out of it rose up Xydrate city. A domed city that protects from harmful UV rays. Here you can live happily and comfortably, if you have the money for it.
Outside of Xydrate are the people kept shunned. The Kurosagi. They are humans that have gone further in the chain of evolution. Belittled and turned away for their abilities they live in poverty and dream of entering Xydrate. With the Aria Force about to prevent their entry this is indeed a difficult task.

-The Selection Ceremony-
Once every five years the Wall opens its doors. People are allowed to take tours and see what goes on here. The public will be allowed to see the Psychics that are trained here and watch police officers choose their partners. It is the only time officers are allowed to choose who their partner will be and the public is allowed direct contact with the Psychics even if they themselves are not officers of the law.

Myst didn't resist the much larger male when the male scurried away. He put his hands demurely back in his lap and continued to smile to Marcus. "I could have told you to sit down, but I knew it would be pointless. Now please, you've let yourself get too weak. You need to eat something." Very carefully Myst moved up onto his hands and knees, crawling over to Marcus. He sat a water bottle and the rest of the protein bar next to the much larger male. "Eat it...please..." He lowered his coppery colored head for a moment and then shimmied back away from the others. He put his back against the main support beam and shut his eyes, just resting.
Taking a deep breath he let it out slowly and then opened his eyes. He grinned a little seeing what Yorian had found. He brushed back a few stray curls. "Be careful, there's a short in it that shocks the driver a little bit from time to time. It's why it was thrown away." He moved towards Yorian when the other decided to rest. He drug one of the water bottles with him, placing it into Yorian's hand. "You must be careful. You are not used to the atmosphere out here. It's much harsher than inside the dome."
Carefully he reached up to touch Yorian's face. The look in those strange dark eyes was so adoring. It was like he was worshiping Yorian. After a moment he drew back and looked back and forth between the two males. "Right at sunset we need to be ready to leave. Right now the city is in a state of chaos, but it will not last for long. If we daudle even the slightest bit, it could mean we get caught and we're all doomed." He looked to where the sun was in the sky, peeking through the structure. "It's so bright...I'd seen it through the eyes of others, but I'd never imagined how big and yellow it could be...with my own eyes."

Dusty already had most of the robot broke down into smaller more manageable pieces. He started to drag the parts with weapons towards the wind sail and then took a few things more off before kicking the unusable parts aside. He put his hands on his hips and shook his head to Marcus. "Do what Goldy Locks says and eat. You're no good to anyone if you can't stand. The three of us put together couldn't lug your heavy ass around!" He stomped his foot and disappeared off into the mounds. He actually went looking for the magazines. As much of a fit as he had thrown just now, he went looking for something he knew that Marcus would want above all else.
When he returned, he was carrying an armload of magazines. "Hey Dumb Ass! There's nudie mags in here! HAHA! DIBS!" He stuck out his tongue and lugged them into the boxes on the wind sail and then came back. He whistled about the craft that Yorian had found. "Wooo...nice...And don't worry about it dude. I mean, shit happens. I said some shit, you said some shit...It's over and done with. I'm Dusty by the way, and the lump of fat for brains is Marcus."
His eyes swung to look at Myst and he stared at the slight male for a long moment. After a while he just shook his head. "OK, Goldy Locks...no offense or nothing meant by this. But you're fucking freaky dude. I mean like...I got constant goosebumps. I feel like if I stare into your eyes, I'll get my mind wiped, or my head will explode or some shit." His eyes got all wide and he made this weird zombie face before shrugging it off and starting to pack more stuff to the wind sail. "Sun down eh? Well, better keep working then...We only got a couple hours to get everything packed up and your lazy asses onto the wind sail. Man...gunna suck having to blow all you guys back with me..." He continued to say random curse words as he worked.

Marcus gladly took the energy bar and scarfed it down like Dusty had scarfed down his supper the night before. "You're too kind you know... like me. Difference is that I'm used to the wastes. Someone like you will get killed out here." He would repay their kindness by making sure that didn't happen for a while.
He smiled at Dusty as he listened to him rant about nudie mags and taking them all home. "Dusty. By then, I could probably push for a while and let you take a break. Hell, I'm already feeling about 50% better as it is." He let the comments about his size and intelligence slide, as they both knew that Dusty was just asking to get his ass kicked, again.
He turned toward the young man who had helped him and sighed slightly, almost as if he wasn't exhausted physically... but mentally. "So the city is so bad that even psychics are leaving?" As he spoke, he heard that little bastard swearing his head off. Marcus picked up a hunk of dirt, packed it and pressed it until it was a small rock, and whipped it right at the kids head. "Watch your motherfucking mouth you little shit." Great example, eh?
The die is cast, and you're too late... The rest is up to chance. Forget the past, and tempt your fate... In this most deadly dance.

Yorian sighed at Marcus’s words. “Well, that’s a risk everyone takes.” Both Xydrate and the wastelands had their dangers. By leaving, all Myst and he had done were trade one set for another. “It’s good to meet you both though. I’m Yorian, and this is Myst.” He reached up to brush a couple rogue curls back behind Myst’s ears.
He sat for a few moments, watching the exchanges between the group, and for the first time since leaving the shack he felt at ease. Things would be rough, but they would survive.
“It’s hard to explain.” He wasn’t going to mince words with Marcus, but there was a part of him that also wanted to be fair to Xydrate. “All I can tell you is what I know: In Xydrate, those in power are fiercely against anyone they cannot control. Mundane humans, those without powers, are considered to be the only individuals safe enough to merit free reign.”
“The moment psychics are discovered, they are rounded up, given collars and IDs, and used to prevent crime before it occurs. The more powerful psychics.. like Myst…are used in supercomputers. Any other type of power? Best case scenario, you do as he and I have done and wind up in the sewers or the wastelands of your own accord. Worst case scenario, you never make it to either.”
Yorian sighed as he thought back to the one person who had been discovered to have powers while he was on patrol; she was a student at the academy who had displayed pyrokinetic abilities during an incident of hazing at a PE class. When she realized what she was, she committed suicide by giving herself a lethal overdose of a prescription painkiller used for migraines. Since she had used an air injection gun, it had been impossible to save her life. Yorian had only just discovered his own abilities three months prior.
“Lets rest a little bit longer then start getting ready. The sooner we get out of here, the better for all of us.”

Myst was staring off into space, caught in his own thoughts when suddenly he felt Yorian touching his hair. He blinked out of his thoughts and smiled back to the other, offering a bit of a sigh. He seemed like he wanted to say something, but he was so weak looking. He glanced down to his own hands, looking at the little marks on the back of them where there had been IVs and other such. There were bruises and little spots of dried blood. He would really need to clean and disinfect himself good when they finally settled down, but that was going to be difficult. He could only hope that things would work out. Right then he was purposefully not letting himself fall to visions. He couldn't afford to at that point. Were he to use his powers this close to the dome still, they might be able to find him.
"I would rather live free with the possibility of dying of starvation, than to be locked away into a tube as a slave. I did not volunteer to become part of their super computer defense system, I was forced to do it. For half of my life they've constantly pumped me full of tranquilizers and such to keep me in an almost constant nightmare and feed them information." He shook his head a little looking back to Marcus and Dusty. "I will do anything I can to repay the both of you for your help. Right now I'm so weak because I was made to be weak...controllable."
Myst decided to stop talking. It was nice to be able to say what had happened to him. He was angry, and he wanted people to know what horrors lay inside that dome that so many wanted to call a haven. To Myst it was nothing but a living Hell. He took a deep breath and let it out slowly. The air was thick and harsh, hurting his lungs and making his nose sting. But it was the most fantastic feeling in the world. It was the feeling of being alive.

Dusty lifted his hand and flipped Marcus off when the other said for him to watch his mouth. The rock that the other had thrown stopped right before it hit Dusty in the back of the head, wind rippled around him and the dirt became unpacked, starting to swirl about him in little ringlets of dust clouds. No wonder they called him 'Dusty.' He continued working, tying down blankets and pillows and filling boxes with food and magazines. He'd drug and strapped down with tattered rope, all the pieces of the robot that looked like they could be useful and then he went to hopping through mounds of garbage using wind to blow things around a bit so he could pick through for anymore scraps that might do them some good. The entire time he was absently listening to the conversation. His brows were furled and he felt sick to his stomach.
It was strange, Dusty seemed to have boundless energy. Where the others were getting hot and tired, he stayed bouncing around like a little Tasmanian Devil. He packed up some decent looking clothes, shoes and boots from a pile and then finally skidded to a stop in front of the little shelter. "That's some really shitty stuff, man. Live as a slave, or bake in the sun. Maybe we really do live in Hell..." He offered a shrug and motioned to the two men that were able. "Come on, help me load up the hover craft and tie it down. I think I got as much as we're going to get today. Goldy Locks, can you pack up you and your friend's shit while you're laying there?" He motioned to the bags that Yorian had been carrying.
Dusty wet his lips and glanced up to the enormous drain and then back to the others. "Come on, I got this weird sinking feeling that we should go." He looked to the sun and then back to the little hover cart, starting to drag it over to the wind sail. Dusty's brows were furled tightly together and the wind kept swirling about him as if ready for anything. He left the hover craft near the end of the wind sail with a length of rope to wrap around it and jumped up to start throwing the sails up and filling them with air in preparations to leave.

Marcus rose to his feet and sniffed the air. He didn't have super senses or anything, it's just something he did. "Probably another sandstorm, kid. Even you can't control those fucking things." Sandstorms in the wastes carried some crazy shit... debris, little metal shards, glass, whatever.
Quickly, He lifted the frail little psychic into his arms and gave a little "don't worry, I got you" sort of smile. He then used one hand to toss a bucket full of junk parts onto the windsail and jumped aboard. "Dusty, get your scrawny ass in gear and get us moving! Yorian, Get up here now!"
They could always come back later when the storm died. But for now, the had gotten some food, some parts to use on the shelter or for weapon repairs... the time to leave was now.
